Budget
Before you begin, you should consider how much you're comfortable having your guests pay for a 3–4-night vacation. Typically, budgets start at approximately $1200-$1500 per person for a 3–4-night, all-inclusive vacation including air, hotel, transfers, meals, drinks, tips and taxes.
Dates
Your wedding date will determine how much the wedding will cost. Sending a "Save The Date" 12-18 months before your wedding is a good idea.
Peak season = high rates: late December through Easter, all holidays
Mid-season = average rates: Easter through August
Low season = low rates: September through early November, early December
Guests
Not everyone on your guest list will be able to join you for this special day due to time or monetary restrictions. Generally, approximately 40% of those the couple invite will be able to attend your destination wedding. Most couples have a reception back at home to celebrate with those who were unable to attend. Many resorts are offering virtual wedding ceremonies, which can be shared with those unable to attend. We can assist you in coordinating this with the on-site resort wedding planners.
Destination
Try to keep flight times within reason. For those only able to stay for 3-4 nights, you would prefer them to not travel 6-9 hours in order to arrive at the destination. Also keep in mind the number of transfers due to the remote destination of your wedding. All guests will need a passport, including any children that may be invited. Most resorts require the bride, groom and witnesses to arrive 3-5 days prior to the wedding ceremony.
Resorts
Do you wish to have a small and intimate wedding, or a resort loaded with activities? We recommend all-inclusive resorts because they include meals and drinks. This makes it easier for your guests to budget for the trip. Further, many of the all-inclusive resorts include a semi-private reception with their wedding packages (depending on number of guests and date of wedding ceremony), which saves you money. Customizable packages are available to create your perfect day.
Ceremony Location
Beach, gazebo, garden, chapel? Resorts usually have many options for you to choose from based on your desires and number of guests. Resorts also have a backup plan and location in case of inclement weather.

There are two types of ceremonies for a destination wedding - legal and symbolic. With a legal ceremony, you are legally married in your destination and receive a marriage certificate from that country that is recognized back home. Legal ceremonies generally cost more and require extra paperwork and sometimes blood tests are required. You can also opt for a symbolic ceremony that has no legal standing. For symbolic ceremonies, you are legally married at home by your religious leader or at a courthouse before you begin your trip. At your destination, you will join in celebration as if you were actually getting married with flowers, music, vows and other events, such as a cocktail hour, reception or after wedding party. Your guests will not know the difference between a legal and symbolic ceremony. Approximately 80% of all destination weddings are symbolic.
We can offer a group booking site for your destination wedding. This will allow all of your guests to book their rooms in one location and allow us to handle it all - taking the stress of handling all of the guests off your shoulders.
